Redesigned models suit asphalt and light-trail riding
The Amber Road - Efficiency and Comfort
The Amber Road family offers the control and efficiency of larger 28" (700c) / 29" wheels and tires while incorporating many of the features of our Expedition bike models. Build your Amber Road with narrower tires if you prefer speed and efficiency on paved and hard surfaces, or choose wider tires if you find yourself exploring more rugged roads and pathways. All-day comfort is our goal, and we achieve this through a balanced and upright riding position and your choice of saddles, handlebars, and grips . All models feature our integrated Racktime- compatible Trekking-Rack giving you a variety of cargo configuration options, and letting you confidently carry up to 40 kg. This makes the Amber Road an ideal companion for lightweight touring, commuting, shopping, exercise or just cruising. The Amber Road is available with your choice of derailleur drivetrains, or the Gates Carbon Belt Drive system which is clean and ultra-reliable when paired with either a Shimano or Rohloff gear hub. A wide variety of component, lighting, and accessory options allow you to build a bike that perfectly suits where and when you ride, along with your style and budget. It's your Amber Road, and your adventure!

Trekking-Rack
Our integrated Trekking-Rack offers superb ride safety and reliability thanks to the welded (bolt-free) attachment. The advantages of this welded and integrated approach become most apparent when riding with a heavy load. The Racktime® mounts enable the universal use of rack accessories such as baskets. The Trekking-Racks are well suited for both daily use and weekend trips with panniers. With respect to the choice of material, we use CrMo 4130 just as with our frames. The material properties of steel make it is much more durable than aluminum racks – regardless of whether they are integrated or bolt-on. The maximum load capacity of our Trekking-Rack is 40 kg.
Drivetrain Options
Choose a durable easy-to-service derailleur and chain based drivetrain, or pair a clean, long-lasting Gates Carbon Drive belt with gearhub options from Shimano or Rohloff for a low-maintenance and worry-free ride.
Tire Choices
Tire and wheel sizes can make a big difference on your ride. If your idea of a great ride is zipping along paved paths and down urban and rural roads, narrower 28 x 42mm tires will let you glide along with ease. If you find yourself on pitted city streets and choppy rural backroads, nice wide 29" tires will smooth things out and take the edge off. Combined with your choice of bars, grips, and saddle, you may be surprised at how fresh you will feel at the end of a day!
The Metropolitan - Comfort and Control
Multi-surface confidence with signature Tout Terrain reliability and style. The Metropolitan is a comfortable, versatile bike that will take you over cobbled city streets and rural gravel pathways. With 27.5" wheels, high-volume tires, and many of the features of our expedition bikes, the Metropolitan will bring you from A to B with comfort, control and confidence. The upright, balanced riding position and your choice of grips, saddle and handlebars ensures your bike fits your body. The integrated Trekking-Rack is Racktime compatible and holds up to 40 kg, so you can ride the Metropolitan for everything from day trips to weekend adventures and light multi-surface touring. The Metropolitan is available with your choice of derailleur drivetrains, or the Gates Carbon Belt Drive system which is clean and ultra-reliable when paired with either a Shimano or Rohloff gear hub. A wide variety of component, lighting, and accessory options allow you to build a bike that perfectly suits where and when you ride, along with your style and budget. When you want a bike that won't limit where or how you ride, the Metropolitan is a natural choice for all kinds of urban and rural adventures.

Gates Carbon Drive Belt Option
Join the Gates Carbon Drive revolution: Clean, quiet, rugged. Almost no other component has advanced the bicycle as a mode of low-maintenance transport as much as the Gates Carbon Drive belt. Particularly when used year-round, you'll be pleased with its low maintenance as an occasional cleaning is all that's required. Belts even last two to three times longer than a chain. Tout Terrain was one of the first manufacuters to offer bicycles with belt drives, and with more than 10 years of experience we have optimized our frames for this purpose. Unlike a chain which can "unlink" to fit onto a bike, a belt is seamless, so the frame must "open" to allow it to fit onto the drivetrain. Our belt-specific dropout design is an integral part of the frame and very discrete. The connection is made of stainless steel and will provide a lifetime of reliability.
Ergonomics and Comfort
High-volume, multi-surface tires and a wealth of options for bars, grips and saddles let you build a bike that fits your body, riding style and budget.
