Features

High-quality materials. Innovative design. Passionate craftsmanship. Through carefully selected components we create a product like no other.

Frame Tubeset

Frame Tubeset

Stratocrom Tubeset

We have carefully designed our Stratocrom tube sets together with our production partners. We use high-quality CrMo 4130 (chrome molybdenum) steel with specific wall thickness and butting depending its placement in the frame. Load-optimized tubes are individually selected for each model so we can achieve a balance between weight and durability.

Fork

Fork

Expedition Fork Option

The Expedition Fork is our premium, feature-rich chromoly steel fork. With the same precise-yet-comfortable ride as our Allroad Fork, the Expedition Fork adds tire clearance and a bunch of cargo and electrical features. In addition to standard lighting and fender mounts, 3-point eyelets on the fork legs let you attach two-bolt bottle cages, three-bolt cargo-style cages or lowrider racks for maximum flexibility. Electrically, the Expedition Fork is drilled for internal dynamo hub wiring and is compatible with the SON SL (Self-Connecting) dynamo system. It allows the front wheel to be removed from the fork without the need to manually unplug the dynamo and is wired internally from dropout to light. The lack of exposed connectors or wires prevents damage to the system, making it a more reliable and robust lighting and (in combination with the Cinq Plug5) charging solution. These features that make the Expedition fork ideal for touring, bikepacking, and everyday use.

Cinq Touring Fork II Option

The Cinq Touring Fork II carbon fork guarantees reliable luggage transport and convinces with unique features and low weight. Six mounting points with the specially developed threadless eyelet system reduce the load on the carbon sidewalls when picking up luggage. That allows a load capacity and reliability that is second to none. The included stainless steel bushings are completely interchangeable. Damage to a thread thus no longer means that the fork must be repaired at great expense. The fork has an installation height of 405 mm and replaceable aluminum dropouts for 12x100 mm thru axles (15x100 mm optionally available). The concept of replaceable wearing parts continues here consistently. It offers space for up to 50 mm (700c) or 54 mm (650B) wide tires, a Flat Mount brake mount for 160 mm to 180 mm brake discs and the option of internal brake line routing. Compatibility with dynamo hubs and the possibility of internal cable routing guarantee an elegant and robust connection to the power supply. Mounting options for lighting and mudguard provide maximum flexibility to equip the fork perfectly for your adventure.

Belt/Chain Tensioning System

Belt/Chain Tensioning System

Tout Terrain TBA III (pivotable for Pinion)

The TBA pinion bridge is like an eccentric bottom bracket, but for frames that use a Pinion gearbox. The third version of our TBA is lighter, stiffer, and offers increased tire clearance over previous versions. Updated geometry also makes the welded connection to the frame tubing more robust. The TBA works by rotating the gearbox around its central pivot by turning a simple adjustment screw. The TBA rotates the gearbox eccentrically, thus tensioning the chain or belt. This lets us use fixed dropouts rather than more complex sliding or rotating designs. Because the rear wheel is in a fixed position, wheel alignment is consistent and the rear fender is always perfectly aligned and with the wheel and tire.

Shifting System

Shifting System

Cinq Shift:R Road

The Cinq Shift:R Road is the result of a collaboration with the leading brake manufacturer TRP and provides enhanced shifting ergonomics on bikes with Pinion gearboxes. The hydraulic TRP Hylex brake system is known for high quality and braking performance. The Shift:R Box uses only the highest quality materials such as impact-resistant 6061 aluminium for the housing, and special stainless steel for the shift mechanism, delivering optimum performance and a very long service life. The Shift:R spring assembly is equipped with overload protection.

Pinion Gearbox

The sealed Pinion gearbox is centrally located in the frame, resulting in a low center of gravity and the superb riding experience. Because of the weight distribution, the bicycle handles with exceptionally agility and dynamics. Depending on the application, the gear ratio spans from the urban C1.6 6-gear gearbox with an overall ratio of 295% to the P1.18 premium model with 18 gears and an overall ratio of 636%. Ergonomically, it is suited to both short and long rides with stance widths (Q-factor) of just 166 for C-line and 174 millimeters for P-Line gearboxes. It allows for both sporty as well as efficient riding, as the pedaling power is applied directly into the drivetrain.

Steering stop

Steering stop

Tout Terrain Ergo-Stop II

The Ergo-Stop II builds on the features of the original Ergo-Stop. Like the original, it consists of two elements – a stop integrated into the frame and a stopper mounted on the fork steerer tube. By limiting how far the bar can rotate, it keeps your cables and electrical wiring intact and protects your frame and handlebar. Steering stops at approximately 78° in each direction, making it compatible with both flat- and drop-bar configurations.

Tout Terrain Ergo-Stop II Plus

Incorporating all of the features of the Ergo-Stop II, the Ergo-Stop II Plus, adds a newly designed parking lock to hold the handlebar in position even if the bike is loaded. It prevents the bike from tipping over, which is especially helpful for bikes carrying front-mounted low-riders, a front rack, or a handlebar bag. The latest iteration adds a stronger, bolt-on interface and CNC machined alloy lock mechanism for increased durability.

Wheel Size

Wheel Size

27.5" (650B)

The 27.5" (or 650B) wheel size is a great addition to the world of wheel sizes. It allows for extreme versatility and offers an ideal balance between on-road and off-road use. Situated between the classic 26" and 28" (700C) wheel sizes, 27.5" tires are a compromise – in a positive sense. On the plus side, they offer better rolling characteristics and more elegant looks compared to a 26" setup, and more comfort than narrower 28" (700C) tires. These tires also have a significantly lower rotating mass than modern, large-volume 29" tires and thus offer a more lively, more agile riding experience. For us, the 27.5" tires are used in sporty all-road models and in the off-road sector.

Finish

Finish

T-Coat powder coating

Every frame is painted in-house with our robust and high-quality T-Coat powder coating process. This ensures a beautiful and durable finish even under the toughest conditions. The T-Coat consists consist of one, two or three layers depending on the component - this allows us to optimise the surface, weight and corrosion characeristics for each use case.

Drivetrain Type

Drivetrain Type

Belt Compatible

Free yourself from oily, rusty chains and join the Gates Carbon Drive revolution: Clean, quiet, rugged. Almost no other component has advanced the bicycle as a mode of low-maintenance transport as much as the Gates Carbon Drive belt. Particularly when used year-round, you'll be pleased with its low maintenance as periodic cleaning is all that's required. Belts even last two to three times longer than a chain. Tout Terrain was one of the first manufacuters to offer bicycles with belt drives, and with more than 10 years of experience we have optimized our frames for this purpose. Unlike a chain which can ""unlink"" to fit onto a bike, a belt is seamless, so the frame must "open" to allow it to fit onto the drivetrain. Our belt-specific dropout design is an integral part of the frame and very discrete. The connection is made of stainless steel and will provide a lifetime of reliability.

Geometry

Geometry

Bikepacking Gravel Geometrie

Our Bikepacking Gravel geometry emphasizes balance and stability. The long chainstays provide lots of heel clearance for panniers, big tire clearance, and superb weight distribution for traction on steep climbs even when loaded down. The cockpit is designed around a longer reach and shorter stem, preventing toe-overlap with big tires. This translates into maneuverability through tight, technical terrain and stability at speed. The open front triangle provides lots of options for frame bags and bottle storage, while still allowing enough seatpost extension to provide a little flex, taking the edge off rough gravel and singletrack.
