Meißner Raeder: Custom-made bicycles – Dresden style

Some bike shops make a name for themselves as soon as they open. Others seem as if they have always been there, right from day one. Meißner Raeder clearly belongs to the second category.
The shop has been around for well over 15 years now, but shortly before that, the two founders were still working at Rotor in Dresden. What emerged in Dresden was not a sudden business idea, but the natural continuation of experience, taste, and a shared understanding of what a good bicycle—and a good bicycle shop—should be.
One small detail that confuses some people: Martin is not Martin Meißner, but Martin Raeder, a name he took after getting married. His partner is Stefan Meißner, and together they form “Meißner Raeder.” Given that many German bicycle shops follow the classic formula of “name + wheels,” the combination of their surnames seems almost too perfect—a slight misunderstanding and a happy coincidence.
The shop is located in Neustadt Dresden, one of the liveliest and most beautiful districts of the city. The location is a perfect fit for the shop: central, lively, but never ostentatious. From the very beginning, Meißner Raeder has been characterized by its calm, tidy, and understated aesthetic. Everything seems well thought out. Nothing seems random.
The same clarity also characterizes their approach to bicycles. Meißner Raeder has been selling Tout Terrain bikes for around 15 years and specializes primarily in custom-made models. Although there is also a small selection of standard models, the heart of the shop is bicycles built to customer specifications – not only Tout Terrain frames, but a wider selection of up to 10 brands. The most important exception is cargo bikes, which are usually sold as series models for practical reasons.

Beyond its shop walls, Meißner Raeder is deeply rooted in Dresden's cycling scene. The company is active, visible, and well-connected—not as a loud advertising medium, but as a consistent, reliable force. The kind of business you quietly recommend to others because you know it's just right.
