Pedalwirbel Witten: A go-to destination for cyclists looking for something special.
06.05.2026
Looking around at Pedalwirbel in Witten, one thing is immediately clear: here be bike folk. The shop and its owner Hanno exude years of passion through obvious attention to detail, with bike-friendly artistic touches on nearly every wall and shelf, and right down to the shops lighting.
Behind the warm retail space, the workshop is equally impressive and a mechanic’s dream, with large windows, generous space, and the perfect setup for fine-tuning everything from everyday bikes to some of the larger, more complex machines they specialize in. Plenty of room for customising a Tout Terrain build.
The brainchild of Hanno Habighorst, the focus at Pedalwirbel is refreshingly unique — alongside a full palette of Tout Terrain bikes is an eclectic range of three-wheeled trikes and specialty bikes. Pedalwirbel has built a reputation for “Spezialräder”, reaching far beyond the region, with customers traveling from practically all over Germany to buy.
Much of that draw comes from their deep expertise in the strikingly aerodynamic “velomobiles”— recumbent trikes with aerodynamic fiberglass bodies, capable of maintaining speeds of up to 50 km/h over longer distances. A visit to Pedalwirbel would not be complete without taking a snug seat inside one of the bikes on display.
Reliable quality and excellent service
A Tout Terrain Experience Corner has more recently become the centerpiece of the shop’s offering. We asked Hanno why Tout Terrain and he says it's simple–consistent performance. The bikes are just good. He added great service from the company and practically zero returns or problems.
In a space built around demanding, often unconventional bikes, reliability matters. And here, the verdict is simple: they just work.
