A strong alliance for unlimited adventures: Tout Terrain x Hope Technology

For more than four decades, Hope Technology has been manufacturing innovative cycling components from their headquarters in Barnoldswick, UK. Hope parts have featured on some of our favorite Tout Terrain builds over the years—starting with our very first Eurobike display and most recently on our new Gravel Team fleet. Sharing a similar commitment to quality and a keen eye for detail, Hope Technology is a natural partner for Tout Terrain, which is why we’re excited to announce an expansion of cooperation between both brands.

To kick things off, we’re excited to incorporate Hope RX40 wheelsets into the latest Ceres GT Select 6.5 model, starting next month—with more components coming to custom and Select models soon.

Read on to learn more about our expanded partnership in a short interview with Tout Terrain founder, Oliver Römer, and Robin Warne, European Sales manager for Hope

Can you talk a bit about the expanded partnership with Hope? What led to this decision?

Oliver: Hope played a role in the early days of Tout Terrain. Fun fact: the very first bike we showed at Eurobike in 2005 featured a Hope brake system. With Hope being very mountain-bike-focused in the early 2000s, the brands had very little overlap. Gravel bikes help close the gap. In a way, we are going a bit back to our roots, where we, as a custom bike factory (In German there is a specific term: “Manufaktur”), use premium, high-end—not mass-market—components to elevate the cycling experience.

What does the new partnership between Hope and Tout Terrain mean to you, Robin?

Robin: The partnership will hopefully consolidate both companies’ positions as high-end brands with reputations for reliable, serviceable products. On a personal level, I have a lot of respect for Oliver and his company because we have both lived through a few changes in the industry and adapted successfully.

Oliver, what values and qualities do you expect Hope to bring to Tout Terrain bikes?

Oliver: Hope stands out from the bike industry as very few brands do. They design and build high-quality products, with a wide variation of each part in terms of specs and/or color. That allows us to tailor the products more to our riders’ needs.

What aspects of the Tout Terrain brand and product line make you excited to work together?

Robin: Simplicity seems to be a common theme, which I identify with as a cyclist—but also the little touches and customization (particularly with paint), which suits us and our approach to products. I think our customers think similarly and want to create something special to them.

What key alignments do you see between the two brands’ values?

Robin: I think the emphasis on ‘low maintenance’ products and also the importance attached to sustainability. Regardless of what else you do, you contribute to sustainability just by creating reliable, high-quality products with longer life cycles and better serviceability. It’s better for the environment as well as our customers’ wallets! This is something we’ve been saying for years, and I think it’s very much in line with Tout Terrain’s approach.

What benefits does this new partnership provide for Tout Terrain customers?

What are a few Hope products that you’re excited to be able to offer?

Oliver: We will start this slowly, offering in the beginning wheelsets, cranksets, and bottom brackets—for now in just one color. In the future, once we are settled in, we are looking to expand that offering.

Which Hope products would you recommend for someone planning their next adventure bike?

Robin: We can cover most areas on the bike, but I would say for adventure bikes, anything we make with bearings is particularly suitable—wheelsets, headsets, bottom brackets—all of which can be easily serviced and will provide many kilometers of smooth, stress-free performance.

Can you tell us how Hope products will be integrated into the Ceres Select models? And into future custom builds?

Oliver: The Ceres GT Select 6.5 will be updated with the new Hope RX40 wheelset. Starting July 2026, we will integrate this wheelset as well as the cranksets, chainrings, and bottom brackets into our custom build program.

Here you can see and pre-order the new Ceres GT Select 6.5, complete with Hope Technology wheels.
