Meet Pamir, our far-ranging, intrepid e-bike that’s always ready for big adventures. Equipped with the powerful Motor.Gearbox.Unit by Pinion—an innovative system that combines motor and shifting into one low-maintenance, sealed unit—Pamir makes short work of long climbs, even when fully loaded. Simply dial in your desired level of assistance and go. Pamir is available as a pre-configured Select model, or can be customized in our online configurator to suit your individual style.
The frames for our e-bikes with the Pinion E-Drive system have a frame-integrated battery, sliding dropouts with replaceable threaded nuts and a mount specially designed for the motor-gearbox unit. They come from European production and are made from tried and tested AL6061 aluminum. This is an alloy that is very frequently used in electronic products and household appliances, for example, as well as aerospace components. It is characterized by very good corrosion resistance and optimum mechanical properties. It is also very easy to machine and weld. Before the individual frame parts are welded together, the hydroforming process is also used in the manufacturing process. In this process, aluminum tubes are placed in hollow molds and a hot oil-water mixture is pressed in at high pressure. This shapes the tubes into forms that give our E-Bikes a modern aesthetic and an individual touch.
This shifting system offers you precise shifting with xx gears, even under high loads - ideal for demanding trails and long adventures. Thanks to the closed system, it is extremely robust and low-maintenance, perfect for off-road tours. The central weight distribution ensures optimum balance and a stable riding experience in every situation. At just 2,100 grams, it is also light and efficient.
Supernova lighting stands for outstanding quality, innovative technology and stylish design. With powerful LED headlights, long range, optional high beam and robust housing, it ensures maximum safety and visibility. Thanks to efficient energy utilization and clever features such as daytime running lights, it is ideal for urban and off-road riding. Supernova - light for the highest demands!
Bolted to the frame at four points, the E-Expedition Rack made of CrMo 4130 steel is very robust and is painted in two coats in our in-house powder coating plant for optimum protection against corrosion. The optional, modular EX-Rail system has already proven itself on our frame-integrated Expedition Rack II and offers three configurations:
Stay fast and light by using the E-Expedition Rack on its own. Mount the stainless steel EX-Rails for more stability and less wear. This moves the load down and further back to increase heel clearance and lower the center of gravity. Attach the optional Quick-Lock3 mounting kit and enjoy the benefits of Ortlieb's fastest and easiest bag attachment system.
The choice depends heavily on the intended use and personal preferences. Both options offer specific advantages and disadvantages.
A carbon fork is lighter, stiffer and low-maintenance, making it particularly suitable for asphalt and paved roads. However, it does not absorb shocks, which limits comfort on uneven surfaces. In addition, carbon can break brittlely under heavy impacts.
A suspension fork, on the other hand, offers significantly more comfort as it absorbs bumps and thus ensures a more pleasant ride. It also improves traction and control on rough terrain. However, it is heavier, which increases battery consumption, and requires regular maintenance. In addition, a small amount of pedal power can be lost due to the suspension.
Conclusion: If you mainly ride on smooth trails and want to save weight, a carbon fork is a good choice. For uneven terrain or more riding comfort, a suspension fork is the better choice.
The Pamir Highway in Tajikistan is the second highest paved highway in the world after the Karakorum Highway (4693 m) and the epitome of adventure! The high mountain landscapes of the Pamir Mountains are deserted and only a few people manage to live here under these harsh conditions.
