E-BIKES

Answers to typical questions about technology, operation, and intended use.

The company Youmo www.youmo.ch offers a repair and spare parts service for e-bikes with Go-Swiss drives. Your Tout Terrain dealer can help you obtain the spare part.

For correct installation and removal of the impeller, please refer to the Quick Start Guide.

To connect a coupling, you need a thru axle with coupling from your trailer manufacturer. The original thru axle has a length of 161 mm (without head) and the thread has dimensions of M12x1.5 mm.

For correct installation and removal of the wheel, please refer to the Quick Start Guide.

Please contact your dealer to correct the setting.

The tracker in your bike has a built-in battery. This battery is charged whenever your bike is switched on. You can monitor the charge status via the tracker app. When the bike is switched off, the battery (if fully charged) will last for several days.

Yes. Please contact your Tout Terrain dealer. They can order the necessary parts and activate your e-bike for the new battery.

Yes, simply press and hold the left shift button to switch between manual and automatic mode (“Smart.Shift”). The same applies to the “Start.Select” function for the starting gear and “Pre.Select” for automatic shifting when coasting without using the pedals. The functions and their meanings are explained clearly in this video.

To use the BackRoller 2.1 on the Ex-Rails, a small adjustment to the hook is necessary: at first glance, the rail in which the hook can be adjusted resembles a “smiling mouth.” The rail is secured with two screws. If you loosen these screws and turn the rail around (“crying mouth”), the hook will fit perfectly on the Ex-Rails.

To avoid damaging the carbon fork, make sure that your holder/lowrider only touches the fork directly at the screw-on points. Some holders/lowriders come with special inserts for mounting on carbon forks. Your Tout Terrain dealer will be happy to help you with this.

BICYCLES

Answers to typical questions about technology, operation, and intended use.

The Tout Terrain Expedition Rack II (stainless steel) and the Trekking Rack can be loaded with a maximum payload of 40 kg.

We use butted tubes for our frames, which means that the wall thickness is designed to withstand the stresses of riding with luggage and varies depending on the load. The wall thickness is very thin at the point where a child seat is usually clamped to the seat tube. This means that the tube can be deformed when the seat is mounted. We therefore cannot approve the use of a child seat on our bikes. However, you can mount a child seat on the luggage rack of our bikes where the luggage rack is part of the frame. Please refer to the manufacturer's operating instructions for attached luggage racks. Some manufacturers exclude child seat mounting.

You can get replacement derailleur hanger brackets from your Tout Terrain dealer. This overview will help you identify the derailleur hanger bracket on your bike.

Depending on the model, the frame number can be found in different places on the frame for design reasons. This overview will help you find it quickly.

Your bike was powder coated in three layers in our manufactory. The second layer determines the color tone, and the top coat ensures a matte or glossy finish.

Since we do not work with liquid paints, this paint is unfortunately not available for purchase in an identical color tone. A paint shop may be able to help. Some of them are able to determine the color and mix a small amount for you. The powder coating can also be touched up with a wet paint, which you can purchase there.

However, as a preventive measure, we recommend covering the frame with protective film in areas subject to wear and tear. This is available from your Tout Terrain dealer or in motorcycle supply stores. Motorcycle protective film is often slightly more robust and available in sheets that can be cut to size. When cutting, please make sure to round the corners and moisten the frame well. This will make it easier to apply the protective film without bubbles.

Yes, you can use our refresh service through your dealer. We will give the dismantled frame and fork a new powder coating in the colors from our configurator. Minor repairs are also possible. If you are interested, you can ask your dealer for the price and delivery time.

With some brakes, the sensor piston in the brake lever may close the opening to the reservoir when the lever is in a certain position. It may therefore be necessary to move the lever to a different position (see lever reach adjustment).

The lever width can be adjusted using a sufficiently long SW2 Allen key (see here). Please proceed with caution so as not to damage the hexagon socket when you reach the end of the adjustment range.

The holes in the bottom bracket shell are designed to provide support for routing the brake line. The brake line can be pulled to the lower edge of the bottom bracket using a cable tie to allow the bottom bracket to be inserted. This also allows a connecting sleeve with an outer diameter of 37 mm for 30 mm shafts to be used, as is the case in series production. Once the brake line has been secured, care should be taken not to pull on it to avoid kinks.

We generally use stainless screws where screws are part of the frame or fork. If a component manufacturer supplies screws, we use them, as the manufacturer has carried out all the necessary safety tests with these screws.

We recommend having your bike checked by your dealer at least once a year. Many dealers offer an initial inspection. You should definitely take advantage of this, as screws can loosen due to settling, especially in the beginning. You will also find important information on care and maintenance in the Quick Start Guide.

You can obtain spare parts from your Tout Terrain dealer.

To connect a coupling, you need a thru axle with coupling from your trailer manufacturer. The original thru axle has a length of 161 mm (without head) and the thread has dimensions of M12x1.5 mm.

Your bike is equipped with a 5 mm quick-release axle. Many trailer manufacturers offer suitable couplings for quick-release axles. Alternatively, you can install a Weber EP-coupling. However, the drawbar must be modified in order to use the coupling.

If you loosen these screws and turn the rail around (“crying mouth”), the hook will fit perfectly on the Ex-Rails.

The thru axle of your bike is inserted from the right, which is unusual. This is necessary for technical reasons due to the frame divider for the belt on your bike. You have the following connection options:

- At www.trailer-components.de, you will find thru axles that are compatible with your bike.

- Connection via a Weber EP coupling on the kickstand mount. However, the drawbar must be modified in order to use the coupling.

TRAILERS

Answers to typical questions about technology, operation, and intended use.

After each wheel assembly, check that the axle is mounted and securely locked in place as shown in the operating instructions. A glance at the end of the axle will easily tell you whether this is the case.

The coupling should be mounted as high as possible on the seat post. The seat post should be free of grease and oil. In most cases, it is not necessary to bleed hydraulic seat posts, as long as you ensure that the seat post is the highest point in the system during installation (when disconnecting the hydraulic line).

On very small frames, especially on a full suspension bike, this collision can occur if the coupling is mounted very low down. For safety reasons, please avoid this by using a higher mounting point on the seat post. If necessary, switch to a rigid seat post or a dropper seat post with less travel.

The locking screw must not be tightened under any circumstances, as this would damage the adhesive bond. If the pull tube twists, please contact our customer service department.

Normally, the play is not caused by defective bearings, as these bearings are very generously dimensioned. With these instructions, you can eliminate the play in just a few simple steps.

Yes, you can find replacements in specialist shops: PRYM Sport&Camping, diameter 15 mm, item no. 390199. The Prym set includes a simple installation tool. Since the press studs are compatible with the existing press studs, only the damaged side needs to be replaced.

There is no frame number for single trailers and mules. You can enter a “-” when registering here to complete the registration process.

CINQ PRODUCTS

Answers to typical questions about technology, operation, and intended use.

Grundsätzlich ja, allerdings kommt der Plug mit sehr leistungsstarken Dynamos (z.B. SON29 S) an seine Grenzen. Daher können wir die Kombination mit diesem Dynamo nicht empfehlen.

The Cinq Plug can theoretically be used in combination with any device that supports external USB operation or can even be charged and operated simultaneously via USB. You will need a cable with a USB-C connector. Please note: To our knowledge, the iPhone 15 is an exception, as it cannot be charged while switched on for technical reasons. Unfortunately, Apple has not yet provided a technical solution for this problem, which also affects similar devices.

Dein Ansprechpartner ist der Händler, bei dem Du unser Produkt gekauft hast. Dieser wird sich bei Bedarf mit uns in Verbindung setzen um das Problem zu lösen.

Basically, yes. However, before installation, you should check whether the Plug 6 Plus cable can be fed through your fork. This is not the case with every fork.

Leider funktioniert das nicht, da die obere Kappe des Plug 6 Plus für die Verwendung mit dem Pufferakku ausgelegt ist. Der Pufferakku enthält auch die Software für den Plug 6 Plus.

Basically, yes. However, before installation, you should check whether the Plug 5 Pure cable can be fed through your fork. This is not the case with every fork.

The plug checks at certain intervals whether the dynamo is providing enough power to operate the connected device. If the LED goes out, you are riding too slowly and the Plug 5 Pure will check the status again after a few seconds.
