Anishinaabe Kwe | Endurance adventurer and storyteller on a human-powered journey
Claudia is an Indigenous endurance athlete and long-distance bikepacker. In 2024, she rode 5,000 km solo from Canada to Mexico on her Tout Terrain Outback. She’s attempted to establish a new 1,500 km route along Australia’s Coral Coast and is now preparing to ride the Baja Divide in Mexico. Claudia's adventures combine physical challenge with reflection, storytelling, and a deep connection to land.
- Nationality: Canadian (Kebaowek First Nation)
- Favorite Terrain: Gravel, alpine passes, coastal routes
- Favorite Gadget: Garmin Fenix 8, Garmin Edge 1040, Varia headlight, Varia radar + taillight
- Favorite Food: Dehydrated Idaho mashed potatoes with chunks of cheddar cheese, Bengal Spice tea with honey before bed, Mars Bars, salt and vinegar chips, sour candy of any variety, and Dr. Peppers all day — every day — over a beer.
- Favorite Tour: Canada to Mexico — taking the scenic route from Squamish through the Canadian Rockies via the Icefields Parkway, down through Montana, Utah, and Colorado on the Great Divide Mountain Bike Trail, and a mix of gravel and roads through Arizona and California before reaching the border six months later.
- Experience: Triathlete (Ironman 70.3), long-distance bikepacker, mountaineer, sport climber, ice climber, backcountry skier, surfer, sailor, and breathwork and cold exposure facilitator. Claudia got into bikepacking in 2023 with her first-ever two-day overnight trip — and less than a year later, set out on a 6-month, 5,000 km solo ride from Canada to Mexico. Since then, she’s bikepacked over 6,500 km across three countries, with Baja Mexico next on the horizon.
