Tested against countless kilometers of rough and remote singletrack, Outback is a confident and capable part of our X.Over Collection. The adventurer’s choice, Outback is at home on fast local singletrack as it is fully loaded on a month’s long off-road tour. Featuring the fuss-free performance of a Pinion gearbox, customizable components, and plenty of mounting points for racks and bags, take the long, less-travelled route with Outback.
Our Stratocrom tube sets are developed specifically for your bike in collaboration with our production facilities. We use high-quality CrMo 4130 steel, which is butted once or twice. We achieve an ideal balance between weight and durability thanks to the optimized, load-adapted tubes, which are selected individually for each model.
This shifting system offers you precise shifting with xx gears, even under high loads - ideal for demanding trails and long adventures. Thanks to the closed system, it is extremely robust and low-maintenance, perfect for off-road tours. The central weight distribution ensures optimum balance and a stable riding experience in every situation. At just 2,100 grams, it is also light and efficient.
Whether for multi-day off-road endurance races, demanding bikepacking rides or even a trip around the world - the frame offers numerous mounting options for pannier racks, accessory bags and water bottles so that you can take everything you need with you. The option of mounting front and rear pannier racks makes the Outback an incomparable companion.
The Tout Terrain TBA system works in a similar way to an eccentric bottom bracket, but for bikes with Pinion gearboxes. The third version is lighter, stiffer and offers more tire clearance. Thanks to improved geometry, the welded connection is more robust. A simple mechanism rotates the gearbox, tightening the chain or belt. The wheel is fitted and removed in the same way as a traditional rear wheel, and the mudguards maintain a constant distance from the tire.
The Pinion twist grip offers precise, low-maintenance shifting with all gears in a compact grip. It is grippy and easy to operate, especially in wet conditions or when wearing gloves.
The Tout Terrain Shift:R Trigger enables fast, intuitive shifting with minimal manual effort. The system has two stacked levers for thumb operation. It allows you to shift one gear heavier or one or two gears lighter with a single stroke of the thumb. Ideal for sporty riders who want to react at lightning speed
Conclusion: While the twist grip scores with its robustness and linear shifting feel, the thumb lever impresses with better ergonomics for frequent gear changes. Both systems have their strengths - the twist grip for touring cyclists and commuters, the thumb lever for performance-oriented bikers.
